Great food and so friendly

This place is absolutely adorable. We had our post hike meal here, and we were so glad we did. Got sized portions, delicious food and super friendly staff. They even loved our pup and made sure she has what she needed too! Parking is a little tricky, and it is really popular. Lots of locals, so you know it's good.

Only two Dog Friendly trails

Dogs are NOT allowed on the trails as it's all protected. However there are 2 that they are, Cal Barrel and Walker Road. We chose Walker Road, and it was perfect. It's all old growth forest that ends at a local swimming spot. There is even ''The Stump'' which is a local landmark. Spent the better part of the day here, and everyone found something special about it.

Beautiful park, With a special spring

This is the headwaters to the Screenshot river. It is located inside a park, and is super easy to get to. Locals tell a story about how these waters are magical and advice to bring empty jugs to fill if you are interested. Dogs are welcome throughout the park, but not in the spring itself. There is no wading either. Overall, this is a near little spot to stop and appreciate the little things.

Great little hike with a spectacular waterfall

My family and I absolutely love this little hike. It is an easy to moderate hike with a small upgrade at the end. It is fully accessible for all including the pup and the waterfall was absolutely stunning. There was enough water for us to wait in and enjoy the cool on the hot day. It's kind of hard to find at first as you have to drive down a long Winding Road into a dirt area that is also an off-grid campsite area. There are lots of people when we went so it was easy to see which direction to go. There's lots of little side trails and places to check out the water. Including a historic site of Ney Spring. This area was full of butterflies, very loud cicadas, and even a coastal giant salamander or two.

Perfect beach day for everyone

I can't say enough about this beautiful location! Luna was able to see the the ocean for the first time. She is now trying to convince me to sell everything and move there 😉
All jokes aside, it was the perfect beach day. The parking is tucked away, and older, but still has plenty of room. We got there at low tide, which is perfect for the kids since there were so many tidepools. People made temporary structures out of the large pieces of trees washed up. Everyone had a fantastic time exploring and running through the waves.

Best clam chowder

This place was a great stop. It came highly recommended by by cousins (locals). It's got outdoor seating, making it dog friendly. And it's right next to a boardwalk where you can see the seals. My hubby had the fish and chips, the kids had the clam chowder, and I had the crab melt. And let me tell you, it was ALL amazing. That was the BEST clam chowder any of us ever had. We were literally chasing that bowl for the rest of our 2 week road trip.

Gross but cheap

It's a Motel 6, I didn't have high expectations. When we got there the cleaning lady had been cleaning the room next to ours. We unloaded, showered, got ready for a night out and left. It was at least an hour before we left and she was still cleaning. Which I thought "Cool they're really clean rooms." Nope! I wiped up my dogs post water dribble trail and the washcloth was BLACK. That's when I also noticed that the previous occupants comment card WAS STILL THERE from the day before. When we went to bed the sheets were wrinkled as if someone had been sleeping in them, but made the bed. But the towels were clean, and hey it was cheap. And they did have a couple small squares of grass for the dogs to use for the bathroom. But then they're also (and a lot of) "long term" residents there. Great for a quick stay, but not if you're traveling with family.

First visit and didn't disappoint

Took Luna on her first road trip to Crater Lake. Though we couldn't go in some trails, we were able to go oh Godfrey Glen Loop, and Rim Village. It was 82 outside, so the black to was a bit warm, but there was still snow everywhere and another first. Beautiful location, and super friendly staff. Got our first NP passport stamp too!

Worth every bite

This place not only came highly rated by my cousins (locals), but also one of our traveling friends. Parking is limited, so get there early if you can. We went on a Monday morning and there was a decent crowd. Seating outside was at picnic style benches, with lots of shade for those hot days. Everyone was so kind, and even made sure puppy was comfortable and has her own real bowl. We had The Works and The Benny with smoked salmon. Food was excellent and even pup approved. She couldn't get enough of that salmon!

It's a KOA

This KOA is in the middle of redwoods, but still close enough to Old Town/main street walk. You could probably walk if your wanting. This was a lovely little stay for Luna and our family. Lots of dogs. The dog yard was very clean and everyone was super nice. The locals helped us find all the best dog friendly places. The one thing I would say to look out for is the sap. I mean, you are under pine trees so it's inevitable. And the train can be heard at night.
