We had a great stay at the pet-friendly Quality Inn in Payson. One of the best features is the walk-out patio to a large green space—definitely ask for a ground-floor room if you’re traveling with pets or just enjoy easy outdoor access. Breakfast had good options and was a nice way to start the day. The location is excellent, with a pleasant walking area that extends through the adjacent neighborhood, making it easy to stretch your legs or take the dog out. Overall, a comfortable stay in a convenient location with thoughtful pet-friendly amenities.

The Hotel Aspen Inn Suites was a letdown from the start. Parking near the room we were given was inconvenient, making it a hassle just to unload bags. The so-called “petite suite” was far smaller than advertised—so tight only one person could walk from the door to the bathroom at a time. It felt dated and bare-bones: just two towels, two washcloths, one hand towel, no bath mat, no tissues, and toilet paper that was worse than what you’d find at a national park restroom.
The furnishings and upkeep were unimpressive. The TV remote barely worked, with reversed channel buttons, and the overall feel was like a landlord special—minimally done and unimpressive. The king bed was decent, but the pillows were flat. Cleanliness was only fair. I’ve honestly stayed at Motel 6s in better shape.
As for the “pet-friendly” claim, don’t expect much. They charge a pet fee but provide nothing for dogs in return. The room was so cramped there was no space for a kennel, and the outdoor pet area turned into a mud pit when it rained. No dog amenities, no thoughtful touches—just the added fee. The location is convenient, but that alone doesn’t make up for the poor value and lack of comfort. I would not recommend this property, especially if you’re traveling with pets.
