Great place for hiking and more rambunctious dogs. I take my malamute / husky mix here several times a week. He's very well behaved and non-reactive and gets a change to interact with lots of dogs his size.
I'm fortunate to live close by and would like to explore other parks but it just doesn't seem worth the bother when most of them are smaller and further away.
They do have a smaller (but still ample, bigger than many urban parks) separate fenced area for dogs under 30 lbs, but plenty of people bring their pugs and puppies into the main park
