Great spot., but...

Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter

Hotel is very welcoming of dogs and staff are wonderful. Great location too. But, being that I look for information HERE I’m giving my honest opinion. We would come back, for sure. I just wouldn’t be surprised to find there is nothing special for dogs. No treats, no beds, nothing. That’s fine I was just surprised since everyone raved and I come to BringFido to find great pet spots. Aside from that, I would have given the hotel a higher rating, but I didn’t know there was no service (housecleaning) unless you stay for 7 days or more. So, when we ran out of toilet paper, we had to ask for it. When we needed towels, we had to ask. The ultimate problem was there was only ONE working elevator and it’s COVID so there were limited numbers of folks allowed on per ride. It was quite a nightmare.

HUGE room

Aquarius Inn

We had a quick, one night stay here. Room was HUGE (I mean our dog had zoomies inside HUGE). Motel is older, but great value for your money.

Quaint spot

Stage Coach Inn

Great hotel location. Rooms are fine. Nothing special for the dogs.

Dogs?!?!

Hampton Inn Provo

Maybe it’s because of Covid or maybe they just want guests, but there was nothing special for the dogs. Not even a “hi guys!”. Not to mention the dog room we were assigned was not in a great spot (3rd floor) and the elevator didn’t work. Not really impressed.

Great walk

Bob Jones City to the Sea Trail

Great walk - we started at the parking lot and walked to Avila beach. Pretty trail (mostly shaded).

Paws up

Edgewater Inn and Suites

We stayed for a night at the Edgewater. Great location, literally just a flight of steps from the beach. We had a ground level room (no view - which we didn’t need). The room was great - king bed with wood floors (soooooo much better than icky carpet). Very friendly staff who also gave our pups a dog treat when we checked in. Walking distance to lots of dog friendly restaurants. We’d stay again (in room 141)!

Great place

Monterey Peninsula Inn

We only stayed one night but we really enjoyed our room. A little gift was left for our dogs (treats) and a dog bed (with their own sheet). The room was very nice. Location of the hotel was great - east to get around. We were a little stuffy and couldn’t open the window as it would allow everyone to see right in (one story hotel). We couldn’t get the air to work. Otherwise, a perfect little dog friendly hotel.

Ugh

Carmel Wayfarer Inn

Well you get what you pay for. Location was fine, price was reasonable for Carmel. But that’s it. This place needs some serious TLC. Old, outdated. Key & lock didn’t work. Shower curtain was just a liner. Sheets were worn out and ripped. Towels were fraying. Carpet was probably original. Dogs were allowed, but not really “welcomed”. Pet policy had lots of rules (no dogs on the beds - which had comforters from the 60’s). And they didn’t have anything for the dogs - maybe we were just spoiled from the other places we stayed.
