Booked the Red Roof inn in Wilmington NC because the motel was pet friendly and had good rates. Needed a room for the night due to a moving truck issue. Got to the desk and was checking in. When I handed my ID, he said we don’t rent to locals, and pointed to a sign that explained the no local policy. I asked if he could make a one time exception, he said no. I did secure a room at a nearby Baymont Inn with no problem at all.
