Messy and Crowded
French Broad River Dog ParkOnce a beautiful dog park, but it’s definitely needing some love and updating, and maybe some expansion. It tends to get overcrowded, even during the weekdays, and it’s always muddy. Unfortunate, seeing as it’s the closest dog park to our house. It also (not at the fault of the park itself) tends to draw in undertrained and ill-behaved dogs, and makes me nervous to bring my girls for fear of a fight breaking out.

Two Paws Up!
Dog Park at Shallotte Township District ParkShady and spacious fenced-in park, perfect for dogs of all sizes! Our little pack spent the weekend at Sunset Beach, and this was a great spot to take our big Goldendoodle and little Shih Tzu mix to play during the hotter parts of the day. It never got too busy, but there were usually one or two other friendly dogs to play with. We went every day we were in town. Very pleased!
