Just got back from a one-night stay at the Showboat Hotel & I could not be happier with my experience. Others seem to be caught up in the unappealingly barren casino floor, but for less than $150/night on the BOARDWALK WITH YOUR DOGS? What more could you ask for on a pet-based travel site?

My dogs Rocco (lab/rottie) & Muggsy (jack/pug) were greeted with affection from staff as soon as we entered the lobby. Rocco is big & typically yields a variety of responses, but a front desk representative immediately leaped to greet him, as well as passing guests. It was almost surreal.

We had no issues checking in & found our room on the 9th floor. A pretty standard hotel room with a few bleached spots on the carpeting from previous guests (once again, completely expected). The ocean view was a major perk.

The staff was courteous, friendly, and generally unbothered by dogs. Nobody weighed Rocco or hassled me over his puppy-like temperament/nervous barking. A small area with waste bags is located near the parking lot. Neighborhood allows for nice dog walks with no fuss. No trip is complete without a visit to Longport!
