Great stay

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Newark - Elkton

We had a pleasant experience at this La Quinta. We stayed there as a layover during a recent road trip. The room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed, the staff were friendly and professional, and it was quiet. The free breakfast had ample selections of hot and cold options. The only slight negative was that there really wasn't a great area to walk the dogs, but that was a minor issue and we were able to find places for them to do their business. Overall, it was a very good experience.

YUCK

Rosen Inn Closest to Universal

I do not understand the good reviews for this hotel. It was pretty awful. The room was dirty - we (actually, the dogs) found lots of bits of food on the floor, as well as two empty drink bottles. The lighting was awful (maybe they don't want you to see the dirt). When we came back after a long day out, we returned to find that our room never had housekeeping. We returned to unmade beds and no clean towels. They eventually brought towels, but didn't offer any apologies for the dirty room and lack of housekeeping. When we inquired if there were any vending machines for water or soft drinks, we were told there was one in the main building, but that it was typically out of order. I will add that we were relegated to the smaller building, across the pool from the main building. It was barely occupied, so I am assuming it is used for "overflow." I gave two bones because the property is gated and the landscaping is well maintained.

Ok, but nothing special

La Quinta by Wyndham Orlando Universal Area

We chose this location because we broke down while traveling, and our vehicle was being repaired next door. It was okay, but the hotel us in much need of a face-lift. The included breakfast was pretty basic. Not too many healthy options. I also wish I knew about the $20 per pet fee (we have 2 small dogs) BEFORE I completed my booking. On the plus side, it was quiet and clean.

Convenient, quiet location

Holiday Inn Exp Walterboro an IHG Hotel

Please note that though we booked this room through BringFido (we're big fans), this is NOT a pet-friendly establishment. We weren't traveling with our pets this time.
The hotel was fully booked, but we still had a very quiet stay. The beds were very comfy and the staff pleasant. The free breakfast was decent. I deducted one star because the toilet leaked and we arrived too late to get it fixed or get a different room.

Large Resort at a Good Location

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando at SeaWorld

We were overall very pleased with our stay. The front desk was extremely accommodating to our needs, the pools were nice, there were several good options for dining, and there were plenty of places to walk the dogs. The beds were comfy, and the rooms were very quiet. Although I realize that this is Florida, and certain things can't be avoided, I could have done without seeing a rat on the fence by the family pool in the evening, and having an encounter with 2 large roaches (aka "palmetto bugs") in my room during our last night.

A Pleasant Layover

Quality Inn Jonesville I-77

I would give this 3.5 stars if I could. We booked this hotel after we were turned away from our previous reservation because the whole town lost power after a storm. The accommodations were basic, so don't expect anything fancy. It was clean, except for some mold around the edge of the bath mat, and there was a vague odor of urine outside. The carpets and bedding were clean and unstained. The beds were comfy, and though our room was close to the freeway, it was quiet. Breakfast was quite good - real eggs and bacon, an assortment of breads, muffins, cereal, biscuits, waffles, fruit, juice, yogurt - all well stocked. There was a number of fast food restaurants nearby, and apparently some local restaurants as well. The rate was good, even with the added pet fee. The staff were pleasant. I would use this again as a layover when traveling on I-77.

Ehhh, could be better

Quality Inn Battleboro

We weren't expecting luxurious accommodations, but it wasn't great. It was super convenient, and the staff was very friendly. It wasn't particularly clean, however. My husband dropped a piece of egg on the floor. When he picked it up, it was covered in hair. I ended up cleaning the toilet with hand sanitizer, because that had hair on it too. Yuck. On the plus side, our pet friendly room didn't smell.
