Fairfield Marriott was most of what we expected. Adjacent to I-10 off exit 199 Monroe St we thoroughly enjoyed our temporary home on the ground floor. Positives: Cameron (the manager) was accessible and visual every day. He was very good at watching the business, personnel, & handling issues. The breakfast gathering area was excellent & substituted for a living area to read or work on one’s computer. Monica was the food manager & was 5-star. She kept food and coffee hot and plentiful, cleaning up in between & making sure guests were comfortable. The cleaning staff did a great job. It’s common practice now to clean intermittently not daily. Linens were available at the desk. The rooms were very quiet except for the young kids above who thumped around coming and going. The room was immaculate with plenty of charging stations.

Negatives: Noisy bath fan, no TV in dining room, really? Our room was immaculate when we arrived & upon inspection at close out we agreed Fido sheds and needed shampooing. A five day stay isn’t a $300 cleaning. Cameron agreed. Outside the grass areas are adequate but no poop stations are provided. I never saw errant poops so most did owners comply and bring their own baggies. The bath wall fixtures need solid backing not plastic anchors. A deficiency in construction that needs remediation. The refrigerator has no thermostat. The bottom freezes while the top temp is 33 degrees. We would recommend all vinyl flooring instead of carpet in pet rooms. Fairfield has 6, Cameron said, but it is easier to clean. All in all, a welcome hotel that is better than most. My compliments to the staff and management.

Stopped at Sally’s for breakfast as we were staying north of Crystal River at a dog friendly apartment.
The Nature Coast is old Florida.
Upgrades need to be made. Older facilities with dated furnishings, outdoor picnic tables for Fido friends and parents, it’s 2nd class.
Mama Sally’s had good food and we enjoyed our scrumptious breakfast omelettes.
