I have no idea why this doesn’t have 5 bones?!? It’s the best dog beach in the Bay Area hands down! It’s easy to get to, no crazy stairs or steep dunes you have to mess with, off leash, always a ton of dogs, has a free “dog library” of sticks, and the entire area around it is SUPER dog friendly too! The only semi down side is maybe parking. But we’ve gone a few times and never not been able to find a spot at least in the surrounding neighborhood which is never that far of a walk because Carmel is only so big.

We’ve been coming here for years. We have a pug that doesn’t stray too far and a Boston that likes to wander. They love it. The climb back up can be a bit challenging (my husband usually has to carry the Boston towards the end) for small dogs, so take plenty of fresh water you and them.
