Sweetpea was my mom's dog, but when she passed, she became my dog. She is a poodle mix that saves my life every day.

Ideal Location

The Mendocino Hotel and Garden Suites

The hotel, built in 1878, is an historical gem in the charming seaside town of Mendocino. It's a tiny town so it's an easy walk around and also access to the Mendocino Headlands. Most of the nearby shops are also pet friendly. Beautiful and peaceful.

Great Bargain!

Kasa the Catrina San Mateo

It's a staff-less hotel so you don't have key cards - you are sent a code for the door. There was no pet area but for such a great bargain near SFO, I was pleased they allowed pets at all. Super clean, excellent bed/bedding and the largest TV I've ever seen in a hotel room. Also, reserved parking. Felt very cozy and safe.

Perfectly fine for a night

Good Nite Inn - Redwood City

I had been driving all day and needed a place for the night - just me and my small dog. Nice property but right up against the freeway so there some noise, a chainlink fence and trash around perimeter BUT they have a lovely staff (I dealt with 3 people and they were all professional and helpful.) and a really nice pool and landscaping. There is no designated pet area, just an empty adjacent lot filled with tree stumps, but definitely a do-able place for pet owners. They did have a pole with Mutt Mitts nearby. The hotel is also alongside an IHOP, which offers a 10% discount to guests. Easy for take-out!

Super convenient

La Quinta by Wyndham Las Vegas Airport South

I will likely stay here again with my pup, Sweetpea, as we were both welcomed warmly. I think they put all of us dog owners in the same section, nearest to the back yard area. Fine by me! Right next to the airport. Also, they did not have the traditional breakfast in the morning (due to covid) but gave us a to-go sack lunch of goodies upon request. Nice effort! (UPDATE: The back door - where they keep all the dog people rooms - is an exit ONLY. So when you take puppers outside to pee, you have to walk all the way back to enter the hotel from the front door only. They say this is for extra security so there must have been some dodgy incidents.) I love meeting other dog owners here!

Sweet cozy spot!

Ala Mar by the Sea

I really enjoyed my stay here - my room was comfy and had a lovely ocean view. The only downside was the regular congregation of people who seemed to be selling and or sharing drugs in the parking lot. Sketchy!

The Perfect Treat!

Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel

We stayed here after a long week of camping and it was glorious! They upgraded me to a higher floor and the view was spectacular. There was a big tub to wash my dog and she loved the King sized bed. Located downtown, walking distance to the Capitol and lots of cool restaurants. TV has streaming options too, not just cable. Staff was delightful. I would absolutely stay here again if we came through town. There is a $100 pet fee so make note of it but we were SO happy!

Good enough for one night

Extended Stay America Suites Sacramento West Sacramento

The hotel is basically an overnighter for truckers. The lobby reeks of weed. The first room I had was next door to somebody rocking out to loud music so I asked to change. The second room had wet carpet and stank of cigarettes. There were some dodgy characters hanging out back partying in a van. The hotel is next to a highway so that's what you get. I booked at the last minute so it was good enough for a dog-friendly place. It's also right next to a Jack-n-the-Box and a Starbucks, which was helpful. The check in girl was super nice and quite helpful.
