Dated Rustic

This was my first time at The Coast Village Inn and Cottages. The staff was very friendly and stated if I needed anything let them know. I stayed in the stand alone cottages. It was very cold and the staff brought me a space heater which was great and warmed room fairy quick! The room #8 was very dated. I did not complain or notify front desk staff because I really didn’t think there is much they could do. The bed spread had a hole in it along with a towel that was also stained. I used it to re- clean room. The shower cold water knob kept falling off during shower and did not drain. I had to run sink in bathroom to get the rust out of pipe before I could use it or wash hands. I like putting my clothes in dresser but the bottom left drawer had a couple of dead bugs in it. The rest was fairly clean. I was just disappointed. The flooring was all lumpy/bubbled and would not be good for an older person that might trip. The screened in porch was a bonus but the furniture is rusted. I know these are old rooms but it’s like they just gave up on even trying to make them presentable or investing money in just a clean paint job. It wouldn’t take much to turn this around to have some rustic charm instead of being dated rustic. The grounds were ok. There is a very very large area in the back for dogs to be walked around on leash and my pups loved it. I did take pictures of most items mentioned here. I want to state again that I did not bring this to the attention of the front desk/owner. I don’t like problems are arguing. I think it’s an okay place to stay so long as you know what your getting. I do feel it’s a bit over priced for dog fee considering what shape the room and linens are in. I did book this last minute and was thankful for that ....but I would not stay here again. There is a place in OGT for $25 more that is fantastic .....it’s just that they were booked. I also wanted to mention that I befriend some other people staying in the back and they loved their rooms and are newer and they had no problems at all. Thank you.
