Avoid
Market Cross Pub & BreweryBeer garden was closed (and didn’t look nice anyway)so only 4 dog friendly tables out front with lots of truck traffic. Food was questionable. We had a chicken pot pie with no chicken and extremely greasy cheesesteak that left me not feeling well the next day. But the beer selection is great.
Lovely property, high pet fee
Hampton Inn and Suites DobsonNice hotel—large rooms, clean. Good free breakfast. Lots of grassy area to walk the doggie. Situated on beautiful farmland and Shelton Winery. $75 up charge for the dog which I think is excessive, especially since hallway on the dog floor was dirty and badly marked. I don’t understand why hotels that charge a pet fee don’t use that money to keep the floors clean—isn’t that the point of the fee? Potential for dogs to have an accident?
Great Haddock Sandwich
Wolfetrap Grill & Rawbarno problem having my small friend out on the patio overlooking the dock. excellent salads, steamers & draft beer.
Excellent Taco Tuesday
Fish TalesVery laid back vibe—reasonably priced fish place on the marina. Very nice to our dog. great sunset and cold draft beer. 1/2 price fish tacos on Tuesday were delish!
Nice outdoor patio.
Hurley's TavernPlenty of room on patio outside with umbrellas for shade. Water brought for our dog right away. They make excellent home-made black bean vegan burgers. I had in a wrap—light and mildly spicy. they don’t know how to make a martini (?). have beer!
Nice grassy area for dog walking
Best Western Plus Richmond Hill InnGreat walking space out back. nice free breakfast so able to bring doggie some scrambled eggs to the room before we hit the road again. Only $20 pet fee which I think is fair. Sadly, AC unit kept going on and off all night so not a good nights sleep for the humans. Dine at Fish Tales about 15 min away on the marina.
Walk to restaurants
Hilton Garden Inn Richmond InnsbrookHotel is in an office park with a nice selection of restaurants with outdoor seating out back. That’s the selling point. dog walking space is actually parking lot with grassy medians—not bad/not good. Sadly, hallway carpeting on the “dog floor” as you exit the elevator is badly stained and nasty as is hallway carpet. I complained about this last year as they do charge extra for a dog—but hasn’t been addressed. If you’re going to charge extra for a dog—clean the rug!
Not really a dog place but good sushi
Thai Lotus Restaurantwe’ve seen a couple of outdoor tables from time to time but wouldn’t call this a dog place.
Hidden Gem
Sinclair's Ocean Grillrestaurant for the Jupiter Beach Resort and Spa—right on the ocean but has yet to be discovered. food is awesome. I had the yellowtail snapper with amazing polenta. also tuna tataki appetizer. it’s pricey but portions are large and quality is excellent. we did not bring our dog because we were sitting inside with a large group. but outdoor tables look lovely, though can be windy on the ocean. trusted friends say breakfast outside is excellent. we will return with the pup!
Best Pizza—and I’m from NYC
Carmine's Coal Fired Pizzaa bit busy street dining outside on Military Trail but the food is excellent. amazing pesto pizza—crispy, good olive oil.
Lovely Jupiter Inlet
U-Tiki Beachas with most places on the inlet, food is expensive and just “good”—but the view of the lighthouse and boats on the inlet is delightful. patio dog-friendly tables are right in front of the dock on a sandy surface—so quite casual. lots of sushi rolls but also a good mahi sandwich and nice specialty fish dishes. no reservations so plan to have a drink and relax on the deck.
Pup Loved Foggy Bottom, So Did We
The River InnLovely hotel. Oversized room with efficiency kitchen made it very handy to keep dog food (and snacks-wine) chilled. Perfect location near Geo. Washington University Hospital. I messed up the reservation date but front desk staff was gracious and made it right. Reasonably priced and no extra pet fee. Quaint neighborhood for dog walking. Lots of cafes with outdoor seating welcomed our pup. Would stay here again with or without my dog.
Good food in town
Ridgway Bar & Grilla bit pricey but good—right on the main drag so nice to be able to bring the pup. Lots of nice tables on outside patio overlooking the shoppers and strollers in downtown Naples. Excellent craft beer selection with local favs.
Fun spot—good food, music.
The Real MacawGreat funky decor—Keys inspired. Feels like you’re sitting in someone’s backyard. Lots of outdoor tables for the pup. Waiter gave our guy some treats. But avoid in rainy season. Insufficient covering so we got wet.
Eh!
Harry's GrillHas the feel of backyard beer garden. Pup friendly at outdoor tables but food is very mediocre. Fried clams very dry. Same for fried shrimp. Friend had a burger that she loved so that’s the way to go here.
Right on the marina
Three60 MarketVery pup-friendly—even have a menu item for dogs. but expensive and too much rich stuff I think. just ask for a scrambled egg for your fur baby. good omelettes, etc. Always nice to see boats...
Perfect for people and pets
The Westin RichmondPet fee included. High end hotel at a great price. Nice outdoor atrium you can bring out restaurant food and sit with your dog.
Stiff Doggie fee
Hyatt Place Savannah AirportFor a $75 pet fee this should have been much nicer. But plenty of space to walk the doggie around neighboring golf course. Room very sterile, but clean. Very nice bathroom. Sam Snead’s restaurant next door has plenty of outdoor seating and welcomes dogs.
