beautiful park, pup enjoys 'fetch' at primitive beach
East Harbor State ParkGreat park overall, plenty of shaded camping spots. Supervised 6' leashed dogs/cats, limit of 2 per site. We visited primitive boater's beach area to play fetch. Cable for campsite and 50' - 75' wind-up marine rope to play fetch both very helpful items. There is a parking area and a long gravel trail, a light weight cart/wagon is helpful or just take the basics and wear walking shoes, take water, doggy life-vest. Lots of dead fish/critters to look out for! The park does NOT advertise 'dog' beach and offers limited amount of clean-up bag stations and limited garbage cans overflow. It would be ideal is there was a 'fenced off-leash' area and dog friendly bathroom. The community has a nice dog park 3 miles away "Bark until Dark".
Fun to shop, dog friendly
Bass Pro ShopsBass Pro offered a free photo on mother's day which was fun to do with my fur-baby! I'd give '5 bones' if they had more dog products and or a pet section or pet events. I noticed a basic life vest and a few generic toys. It is really just fun to explore on a bad weather day and good for puppy socialization (no clean-up stations). I used the elevator to be safe.
puppy training, basic grooming & events
PetSmart OakleyPetSmart had new puppy owner savings coupons booklets for purchase, I used it for socialization/puppy training class, her 1st grooming, bag of puppy food, etc. We got photo taken with Easter Bunny, staff is always busy, but helpful and kind. I like that they help local pets get adopted too. My pup enjoys the store!
