Great experience

We had to pick my husband up from the Knoxville Airport instead of Asheville due to Helene. We were thankful for nice last-minute accommodations!

Really worn, should have paid less, stayed elsewhere

This is a really well-worn motel. It just needs a total re-haul. The carpet was filthy. Saving grace? Great front-desk customer service (TV remote was faulty), and right at the highway. No place to walk your dog except behind the building that was littered with trash and distracting prairie dogs.

Nice location but a bit ‘meh’

A great location around the corner from town, but kind of seedy. The motel was rather worn. Crispy towels, squeaky bed, and a loud AC unit. A weedy, high grass area next to the hotel to walk your dog. For the price, it’s a ‘board-in-the-hole’ motel. Nothing special but a place to hang your hat.

Nice and clean, pet friendly

It was a good stay. Main criticism was the young man that checked us in reeked of pot, but then again, it’s CO!

Beautiful place, hard to find, lots of rules

This was a lovely place to stay, once found. Beautifully decorated. You will be sent a ton of information and it’s hard to sift through. See below for simpler directions, and also know that it might have been a great ‘dark sky’ location, if only the extremely bright light from the shower/restroom building. No Milky Way for us on a clear night. DIRECTIONS: Do not follow the confusing directions sent in your 4 emails and one text, of you’ll be as turned around as we were for :45 minutes.

From WB I-26: DO NOT FOLLOW GPS TAKING YOU ON N175th - we were told that the bridges are out. Take next right one road further west - N 160th. Then a right on E 100 N, quick left on 5050 E. Look for ‘Aspen Grove Inn’ sign on the right. This is where ‘Moonlight Cottages’ are. It’s an RV park too. Take first driveway to the right and look for lettered cottages. If you cross Heise bridge, you’ve gone too far.

In your cottage you will find a two-page laminate ‘rules and regulations’ sheet of do’s and don’ts. You will find signs with warnings and instructions in the bathrooms, lounge chairs, kiddy swing, and, yes, you get the idea. We were so paranoid of our dog’s hair getting on the beds, we stripped all 3 of their comforters and put our camping bedding on top. Dog hair on beds is a big charge - so be aware. Not sure why dogs are allowed with all of the stipulations.

Again, a lovely place, unclear directions and lots of rules.

Finn was happy!

We are traveling to the Badlands from NC and just needed a quick dog-friendly overnight. Our stay was ok. It was a clean room, micro-room, that is, looks like it was halved from another room. The bathroom door hardly shut as the laminate in both sides was coming loose. We were in a pet-friendly room but the dog-walking area was clear on the other side. We made do..
