Pet-friendlier options elsewhere
La Quinta by Wyndham FlorenceI travel through Florence often with my two dogs and this hotel was my least favorite. There was carpet in the rooms, the pet area in the back was badly lit and full of trash and the staff did not seem to agree with the chain's "pet friendly" stand. More importantly when we stayed someone had left their two dogs in the car overnight and the poor things barked all night. It was beyond heart-breaking. I usually stay in one of the smaller places an exit before or after where there is more space and less traffic to walk the dogs and you can just open the door and walk the dogs out.
Absolutely amazing!
Lehigh Gorge Scenic RailwayI took a ride with my two small pups and we all loved it! The scenery was amazing. Everyone on the train was so nice and welcoming to the dogs, giving them plenty of pets and head-scratches. There's even an ice-cream place with an order window next to the station that serves pupuccinos. All of the gift stores on Broadway (a lot were closed on a Tuesday though) allowed the dogs to come in and were very welcoming.
