Barked up the right tree!

I want to give a terrible review so I can improve my chances of reserving space for future get always; however, I will honor the community. The Inn features Supportive staff and access to a charming town. It offers helpful amenities including a pet wash point to de-beach before returning to rooms, a welcome basket for pets that contains duty bags, bowl, towel, frisbee and bed coverings. Complimentary treats for pup and human guests were presented in the room. Our room had a kitchenette with mini fridge, Keurig brewer, and microwave. The Inn offers complimentary breakfast, and easy walk to scenic overlook and beach, neighborhood bakery, cafe, grocer, and restaurants, and easy drive into town. The shower had good pressure, and TV service has a wide variety of channels (we watched the Mariners win over Detroit after 5 hours). We will return.

Note: the inn’s property and neighborhood are the home of wild, domesticated rabbits. Please drive with eyes ready and keep dogs and cats on leashes when outside. Deer and elk roam through the neighborhoods and town park. We encountered nearly as many dogs as people in town on Friday. Many businesses place water bowls outside. Two pet shops and at least one boutique welcome well-behaved pets inside (the boutique I refer to is near Insomnia Coffee and sells Goonies merch). Several restaurants welcome dogs on patios. The Inn offers a guide to their guests that details dog friendly establishments.

Visit the Tree of Life

I wanted to leave 1 bone and a terrible review to ease my reservation options, but I don't have the heart to take away from a wonderful space and team of caretakers. The Kalaloch (pronounced Clay-Lock) Lodge is conveniently located along the Pacific Coast Highway, the Olympic National Park Loop, and the Olympic National Park. Pet dogs are welcome in designated cabins.

The cabins are nicely appointed with kitchens (sink, stove, mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig adapted coffee brewer, pots and pans, flatware, mugs, and dinner wear. Most have ocean views from the bedroom and living room windows. The wood stoves and free (seasonal) cords of firewood were most welcome after getting caught in the rain, and showering off sand and marine water.

The cabins are bordered with lawns, making for a convenient morning potty walk. Picnic tables and Adirondack style chairs are set outside each cabin, and along the cliff-edges of the property. At least two dog-waste-bag dispensers are available on site. The lodge itself does not allow pet dogs inside. The kitchen was supportive with A MOST DELICIOUS takeout order.

The direct path to the beach was washed out during our visit in March 2025. The beach access from the nearby Kalaloch campground provided a lovely forested park to wander through, and fairly easy descent via primitive staircase, to the beach. The famous Tree of Life is located at beach level between the lodge and the campground. The lodge is approximately 5-10 minutes to Ruby Beach, 30 minutes to Forks Town Center, and 40 minutes to Rialto Beach. Dogs-on-leashes are welcome on the beaches (please pick up all waste/leave no trace). Note: Bald Eagles and hawks were very active on the beaches. Closely monitor the safety of your small dogs.

Friendly and accommodating

My pup and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon on Sahara’s patio while catching up with an enduring friend. Ms. Terri prepared bountiful salads for the humans, modified to accommodate our allergies, and a thoughtful snack (and bowl of water) for the pup. Local patrons raves about the pizza.

Thoughtful and Lovely

Condos for rent thoughtfully prepared to host “the entirety” of my travel party. Our room contained two dishes for the pup’s food and water, complimentary waste bags, a bed cover in case pup slept on bed, a cozy plush blanket, treats and special towels. The property offers at least two outdoor shower stations to wash sand off of feet and fur, and a meandering woodland path from the condo property to the beach (approximately five minutes walk). The staff were kind, and the property well maintained. The local deer population assist with deadheading the flower baskets 😆
