Tater

I’ll start with the positive… the woman who checked us in was very nice and there was a donut shop that shared the parking lot that had good donuts in the morning. But our room was absolutely disgusting! I wish I could share the pictures here. There were poo stains in the toilet, hair in the sink, dirt and hair in the corners, the bed skirt looked like it was a crumpled up paper bag and was torn. The bedspreads were all cock-eyed like a 5 year old made the bed. And the fridge, coffee maker and microwave were covered with fingerprints, smudges, and liquid splatter… who knows the last time they were wiped down. I was surprised that (especially in the heightened cleanliness time of COVID) a hotel could look like this and still be in business. And shocked that it had 2 other 5 bone reviews on BringFido. The only reason we stayed is because we’d been driving for 14 hours and it was midnight. The sheets and towels looked and smelled clean… But I slept in my clothes. Don’t stay here!

Yes, they’ll allow you to have your dog here... but they’re not welcoming if you’re not a local and/or look the part. We do ride Harleys (weren’t that day) and the bar tender looked right at me and walked away (wasn’t busy at all!) I didn’t get served until one of the locals called a second bar tender over. Did talk to some that were willing to engage, but if you’re not a local or a biker... this place isn’t for you. And there are plenty of other more inviting places in the area to have a beer.

Food is great. Staff is friendly. Right on the water... can watch turtles and alligators. We sat on the patio, but they asked if we wanted a table inside (dog was fine inside too). Highly recommend!!!
