Frankie is a super mutt - DOB 1/4/20

We were traveling from AZ to WI during an unusually cold week. I had called 30 min out to see if they had rooms available, we have our cat and dog. She said yes, no problem. The room was very clean and the owner extremely nice, but it was 3° outside and they didn’t warm the room up in that 30 min she was expecting us. The heater was set to 45° and after an hour it only got to 49°. The floors were like ice and we requested a space heater. They brought one over that looked like it had been stored in a barn for years. My husband plugged it in and it filled the room with a cloud of dust and stunk like burning oil so we didn’t use it. In addition, the sink faucet was installed upside down (?) so it was hard to work and we never could get warm water. Also, there was no place to dispose of the poop. So, I left it outside the door on the sidewalk we’re on a road trip! I couldn’t take it with us. I gave it a low score because of these issues, especially because they didn’t offer any compensation and we paid $50 in pet fees. Had we come in June, I probably would have given this review 3-4 bones.

We stayed for the night on our long drive from AZ to WI with our cat and dog. This was a great stop for a great value. Not fancy, but very nice and very clean. The staff was super friendly. I will definitely stop here again. (It was a little noisy, I could hear the neighbor’s water and the upstairs footsteps….but honestly it didn’t bother me at all. It’s far enough off the freeway that we didn’t have traffic noise, but not too far off the freeway for our route.)

I would have given this 5 bones if it had a dog relief area and, due to the age of the building it can’t be helped, quieter A/C.
I am a sucker for old architecture and this hotel provided a journey into the past. Beautifully restored art deco style, it’s worth stopping in even if you don’t stay. It’s in the heart of the adorable historical downtown and we enjoyed a long stroll checking everything out. We loved Silver City and would definitely stay at the Murray when we come back!

This was our first visit - I wore booties (for you males out there
