Awesome park with tons of trails to walk with your pup. Dogs are allowed most everywhere besides buildings and the tree boardwalk. Totally worth stopping if you are passing through the area.

The trailhead is on the right side of the road if coming from Flat Rock. Go about a half mile from the road intersection mentioned in the description. Look for a small gravel pull off and a wooden bridge hidden in the shrubs.

Fun trail with a few creek crossing. Follow the white blazes. Our 9 year old corgi mix had a fun time hiking around.

We were staying at Shepherd State Park. We were able to kayak from the state park to the restaurant which was really fun. They have a little sandbar where you can get out of your kayaks. The food was great and our dog was allowed on the patio. We had a good time and would definitely go again next time we're in town.
