The hotel and every staff member we encountered were warm and welcoming to my pup and I. We went down to the beach a few times each day and had fun. The property has an overarching problem that is not the fault of the property owners or their staff. Burrs or stickers, those pea size seed pods that resemble shipping mines are almost everywhere. I did my best to guide my girl around the areas where the stickers grew but that wasn’t 100% effective. I like that hotel. It’s a hidden gem but not for a dog.

It smelled very bad. I could feel every spring in the sagging mattress. There was vomit in the bathtub, the bed had mites in it.

The hotel is a step back in time. The owners have taken every step to preserve the look and feel of the 1880s in their accommodations. I’m happy to report, the bathroom, has been updated to modern standards. The dog walking areas are across the street but that's no big deal. The hotel’s restaurant serves delicious food. The Stamphill was a good choice for us. We enjoyed it.

The staff was warm and welcoming to my dog and me. There is no dedicated dog area on site. There is a small park down the block. It’s fine as a place for your dog to do its business but you won't be able to let your pup off leash.

Dog friendly in every respect. Nice little grassy area right outside our room for late night business. Nice neighborhood, quiet streets with courteous drivers, and a big park just a short walk away. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. The grounds are well cared for. I’d have given it 5 boness if they had a dog run.

The hotel is great for peeps and pups. But this morning when I asked the desk clerk to confirm that my rewards points would be credited to my Hilton Honors account I was told that since I used a third party booking company, I would not receive any points. I used BringFido because every hotel within 50 miles was sold out; turns out another 3rd party booking company bought up all the hotel rooms in the area. Calling the hotels got me nowhere. Using, BringFido, however I got the room I wanted fast and easy.
