What happened to this nice hotel

Upon arrival they tried to put us in a room with 2 queens but I requested an executive king suite! None available so we were put in a room with a king and sofa so my mother can have the sofa. Also they placed us on the second floor with a senior dog and 1 of the elevators was broken. We also got to the room and it smelled badly of cigarette smoke and really musty. I asked for extra towels and the staff didn’t understand English whatsoever. They never brought us extra towels and linens we asked for. We’ve stayed at this hotel several times in the past and have never had any issues. I will probably give them another chance in the future but hope to not encounter these issues again.
