Great choice for a quick family get-away
Delamar Traverse CityWe visited Traverse City from New York. We travel everywhere with our 2 little yorkies who are 8 and 11 and used to traveling and are indoor outdoor trained. We stayed at the West Bay Beach Holiday Inn with our yorkies as well as some family from the area.
This is a simple hotel but has enough amenities for a clean comfortable stay. It is very affordable. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and the staff is friendly. Everyone is quite helpful at the front desk and the restaurant where we had breakfast.
It met our expectations for a simple quick visit in Traverse City.

Fantastic dinner in every way.
The Towne PlazaOur dinner experience at Towne Plaza was perfection. We are visiting Traverse City from New York with some family from the area. We travel everywhere with our 2 little yorkies who are carried in their zippered bags. We went to dinner with our family and our yorkies and sat outside. The outdoor seating area was lovely. Our server was friendly and attentive. And food was delicious. All pork dishes we tried were delicious and satisfying as well as the duck AND the root vegetable gratin and the raclette interpretation. We also ordered a dessert to take away. Also delicious. AND they offered us doggie biscuits. Perfect experience in every way. We’d go back if we were ever back in Traverse City.

Do not see how this place is listed on Bring Fido.
The Filling Station MicrobreweryWe just had one of the most irritating dinner experiences of our life as dog owners. We are from New York and visiting Traverse City with family from the area. We travel everywhere with our little yorkies that we carry around in their bags. They do not come out of their bags.
We decided to go to the Filling Station because it was listed on Bring Fido and we had seen that they had outdoor seating. We arrived there this evening with our family and our yorkies in their bags. We selected a table outside and as soon as we sat down a woman came up to us and said “...if we had dogs they had to be leashes and on the ground”. At that time I had both my dogs on my lap inside their bags, so I said “...how about on my lap and inside their bags?” To which the woman answered her scripted and parroted her absurd response of “...oh, this is a food serving area so all 4 paws in the ground”.
So, my 7 pound, pristine clean yorkie, inside his zipped bag could not be held on my lap.
I really hope that anyone who reads this understands the absurdity of this. I am not even sure if this is the official rule of the restaurant or if this woman was just saying random things to me.
I only stayed because we were visiting with family members and it was our treat. Otherwise I would have never wasted my money on this place.
