Off leash near beach
Shoreline Beachside Bark ParkWe went on a Saturday in July. it was nice to have an off-leash park near Pensacola Beach, however there is no water access. My dog enjoyed being able to run around and play with other dogs off leash. The other dogs were mostly local and everyone was friendly. Be careful because there are 2 separate entrances, the other was open when we came in and our dog got out. No incident occurred but drivers go by very fast on their way to other sections of the park so it could be dangerous. There was shade, sand and tennis balls to play with. one of the local owners cautioned against drinking the water provided but our dog had no ill effects. we took him for a walk on the nearby nature trail which he enjoyed. I really wish there was a nearby off leash park with water access! even if the beaches were opened up after 5pm or before 8 like some other areas do! We saw so many dogs in Pensacola Beach, I am sure it would be appreciated!
Nice stop on the way to Florida
Clarkco State ParkWe stopped on our way to Pensacola Beach from Tennessee on a July afternoon. It is right off 45 before you get to Quitman. There is a $2 fee per person (honor system when we were there) that was worth it for a chance to stretch our legs and let our dog run around for awhile. We went on the nature trail just past the entrance. There is no off leash section, but no one else was on the trail so we were able to let our dog run around off leash for awhile and he really appreciated it! The park is very clean and well-kept, looks like it would be a nice place to camp or stay overnight,(I'm not sure how that would work with dogs). There was a barbed wire fence on one side not far from the nature trail which our dog avoided, I don't know if some would be inclined to run into it or not. People were swimming in a section of the lake and there was a splash playground. Picnic tables, etc. No off leash area.
Off leash water fun
Bayview Dog Park and BeachGreat place to let your dog run and play in the water. We were frustrated having to keep our very active, very friendly dog on leash at the Pensacola Beach dog beaches. He had a great time here with friendly dogs and being able to playing in the water. There is a double gate, fresh water, benches. We went in the evening around 7:30 but I’m pretty sure I remember some shady areas. Small, but worth the 11 mile drive from the beaches for us!
