Great doggie meal. And the humans are permanently ruined for all other tacos.

Wish I could give 10 stars. Boca has been on our list to try for a while but we hadn't managed to get over there from the east side yet. We saw Chef Maria win FlavorTown Food Fights on TV tonight, and decided it was time to make it happen. Needless to say we came in with very high expectations and hoping the tacos lived up to the hype. The food and service both completely blew us away. I may never be able to eat an average taco again. We will absolutely be back.
Boca is genuinely dog friendly, not just dog tolerant. We were immediately offered a dog bowl of water, and there plenty of scratches and kind words throughout the evening. The carne asada dog bowl was a big hit and they brought it quickly.
Dont skip the chips and salsa. The tortillas are made fresh at the tortilleria next door, and the chips are fried fresh to order. They come with a flight of salsa in 8 unique varied flavors.
Every taco we tried was amazing and we can't wait to go back and try some others. There are so many unique options. The mole was heavenly and the Al Pastor was tender and flavorful. The Barbacoa and Puerco verde also didn't disappoint. When you go, be sure to try one of your tacos Vampiro style. They also have some unique and delicious sounding vegetarian options which we will be trying next time.
Best of all, the prices are incredibly reasonable. Tacos range from 5 to 7 bucks a piece. I struggled to finish 3.

Our new GoTo brunch spot.

Super dog friendly. They have dog bowls and even have a section indoors where dogs are allowed if it is too hot outside. Bakery is amazing, all the food we tried is delicious. Full menu of cocktails, mocktails, and espresso drinks. Shady tables and a fountain on the pretty patio.
Best get here before opening on the weekend.... the line gets long. On a weekday you can walk right in.
Don't forget to try the chocolate bomb and berry cream cake.

Not very dog friendly

In a town chock full of dog friendly restaurants who will pamper your pup with treats and doggy menus I wouldnt bother with this one. Go to lazy dog in the same plaza instead.
There was plenty of patio seating and they did bring a bowl of water for the dogs when we asked. Beyond that not so great for dogs. We asked if we could get a plain burger patty for the dogs and they said yes. However, when the bill came we were charged $22 for a full adult cheeseburger meal despite having no bread, cheese, condiments, fries, or sides, just a naked patty. Asked for them to discount it and a manager came to the table to lecture us about how they shouldnt be discounting it because they shouldnt even be ringing in food for dogs. He knows it happens anyway but its not supposed to so he shouldnt be adjusting any prices. He did discount it in the end but wasnt happy about it and implied we should not expect it to happen again.
Food was good and service pleasant but its overpriced for a chain. Lemonade was undrinkable as it was straight lemon with no sugar. Had to order syrup to stir in to be able to drink it.

Fantastic Fido Find!

The majority of this gastropub is a 'patio which is nearly completed enclosed and cooled with fans and misters. Honestly feels like being indoors. Super friendly to pups. They bring water in big porcelain doggo bowls. Staff all stop to greet the dogs kindly. Chicken and burger patties are delicious and fresh. Our dogs devour them rapidly. And the menu is amazing. Everything we have had was divine. Arrive early if you want the special as it tends to sell out.

Amazing Service

Immediately offered water for the dogs, even before the people! :) No dog menu, but the waiter was happy to go find the chef and ask him to look and see if they had a chicken breast anywhere for them. Patio is heated. Food is absolutely amazing. Patio is loud due to proximity of train tracks, but given that part of its charm is the location in a historic train depot that is to be expected.

My favorite place in the world!

Everybody here is my best friend! This whole neighborhood is all dog lovers. The inlet is nice calm shallow water so I can play... I'm scared of the ocean. Always clean and nice sand. Weather is always perfect. Lots of good brunch places nearby.

Doggie Heaven!

I felt so welcome! There was a doggy menu already on the table when we arrived and I got fussed by so many people. I had the grain free liver bites for an appetizer. Mom said she never saw me scarf down treats like that. Then my prime rib came and it smelled sooooo good. I dont like rice but i shared that with some cute birds that were hanging around. The view of the ocean was so pretty! Everyone was really n8ce and they made sure i didnt run out of ice water.

Nice spot!

I got seated on the toasty patio immediately, no waiting. They have a whole dog menu! I ordered the Bird Dog. The chicken was delicious but i'm not about to eat rice and squash. Also had some of mom's fish, just for the halibut! 🤣 It was delicious.

Shame.

We had such a great experience here the last time we were in san diego and were excited to come back again. Disappointed to see gow much things have changed. Didnt get water for the dog, had to get it ourselves. Coffee was putrid. Old, burnt, and all 3 cups had coffee grounds in them. Skirt steak was highly recommended by waitress but was merely edible. Overcooked and entire plate swimming in oil. Greens were inedible due to the several tablespoons of cooking oil floating on the plate. The food we ordered for the dog never even arrived. Such a shame. Its nice to have a good restaurant with a patio to depend on when traveling with our dog but we will scratch this one off the list.
