We brought Duke along to explore the Alamo. We had already did the short tour inside before so we didn’t mind that dogs weren’t allowed in that part of the exhibit. The outside grounds are beautiful with lots of historical information spread out on the property. Bonus that it is a short walk to the Riverwalk.

Beautiful Walk along a river bank full of shops, restaurants, and art. We went on a Saturday in January so it wasn’t crowded but if it was the walkways are pretty narrow.

The river bed has long dried up but there is a short hike up a hill that is well marked. The trail is narrow and rough with lots of loose rocks and cactus. It seems to not been maintained for a while. We went on a cool January sunny day, so didn’t have to worry about snakes.

This is a cool mix of art and nature in the middle of the woods. We took Duke in the morning to get some exercise before another scorching day in July. Very quiet and tranquil. Easy walk around the park. We loved it! There wasn’t anything else to do with our dog in the immediate area so we were pleased we found this.

If you’re visiting GNP and need a dog friendly place to spend some time, don’t miss this park. Beautifully layed out with plenty of dogs to run with or loads of open space for solitude. Love this place!

I have mixed reviews here. The hotel has great potential and the rooms were nice BUT I was surprised to learn that they have a big construction project going on. The entire front of the hotel is blocked, there is construction trash all over the outside area, the “dog” area is littered with trash, no poop bags, and the poop bag trash can is overflowing. Worst of all, the entrance door in the back is broken so the hotel is not secure at all. Maybe in a few months they will have this cleaned up, but for now I would stay somewhere else.
