Hidden Gem

I loved staying in this quaint hotel. It is built in the redwoods. There is a trail down to the road that takes you to the beach, so you walk through the redwood forest. This may have been the dogs favorite part. The rooms were extraordinary, I felt guilty walking across the floor with dirty feet. I would like to have had a couple more days to visit the nearby public beaches that are also dog friendly.

Nags Head is very Pet Friendly

We just got back from Nags Head, and found the island to be welcoming to Dogs. From Hotels, to restaurants, to shops. The beaches that we went to allowed pets, and there were many. Dog owners were very responsible as well.

Fantastic Service

Rented a 4x4 to look for horses. The vehicle I rented was so clean, I felt guilty returning it without it being detailed. The owner was very accommodating, and informative. If we return to Nags Head, I will use his service again.

Hotel has gone to the dogs

For our stay in Nags Head, I wanted to go cheap and stay at the chain hotel. I was outvoted, and we stayed at Dolphin Inn. We got a room that the back door went straight to the beach. There were so many dog owners with well behaved dogs. The rooms were clean, and the staff friendly. If we return, I am sure we will stay here again.

Took grandma hiking

As we drove ever so slowly through a herd of bison, traveling shortbread stuck just the end of her nose out to sniff. The bison on the other hand, didn't concern themselves with a pamper dog. We hiked a few trails and visited a prairie dog village. Easy trails.

neat area

We walked over this area with our pup last year. Dogs were not allowed inside the State museum.
