Excellent All Around
Schoolhouse BreweryWe loved how they carried the school house theme throughout. Their delivery van is even a mini school bus. Right on the river for a gorgeous sunset view. Excellent beer. Delicious bar foods. Don’t miss the Brussel sprouts with all the extras. Birdie loved all the water bowls on the deck and we’re so proud that she obeyed the three-bark max rule. Highly recommend.
Super Clean Campground
Sun Retreats Peters PondWhile we were among the few two day trippers in this RV resort that seemed to be a seasonal Cape Cod home for New Englanders, the campground was dog friendly, super clean, and well-located for day trips to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard
Lobster and pups!
The Colony HotelVert dog friendly out by the pool deck. Beautiful ocean view. Good food. And, unlike the rest of the town, offers ample parking.
Excellent Farmer Sandwich
Bird in Hand Bakery & CafeEnter the spotless restaurant and store, place/pickup your order and enjoy outside. we had a shady table, which Birdie appreciated. The horses really got her attention! Large grassy area in the back let her do what she had to do.
We’ll maintained.
Scottie Yard Dog ParkThe three areas are a bit small but allow for different play styles. water fountains were off. There are hoses for rinsing pups but we didn’t check those out. Birdie had a good run and made some friends.
Beautiful Walk
Emily Stevens ParkBirdie and I did 1.5 miles out, then back. The Snake River is on one side.
Not great for dogs
Yellowstone National ParkWe stayed in the Canyon Lodge Cabins, which are dog friendly. Dogs aren’t allowed to be unattended in the cabin or car. Fortunately we had an RV with a generator. While we could walk Birdie around Lodge property, dogs are not allowed on most park trails, which I get. Bears, sulphide spewing springs, treacherous terrain, etc. after three days, we were still happy to have had her with us.
Main Street Breakfast
Cowboy CafeGreat place on a stereotypical USA Main Street. We had breakfast on a Sunday morning. Great service. Delicious food, generous portions. Fresh water for Birdie. Locals were dining there as well. The front porch was a bit snug, but workable.
In the heart of town
Phillips Avenue DinerGreat place for breakfast within walking distance of the falls. Friendly, dog loving staff, brought lots of water for Birdie. Metered parking right in front. Great coffee. Delicious, huge portions. Clean restrooms. Highly recommend.
