We chose this hotel as it was close to family that we were visiting. It was a hard place to have our golden retriever as there was very little area for him to relieve himself. There was a small 15 x 15‘ green turf in the back of the hotel which he is not used to using. If not visiting with our target, it would be a five bone review. Comfortable, clean and a great location. We would stay there again if we did not have our dog with us.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Pecos Trail Inn. This is a quaint older small motel that has been remodeled by the new owners who you can tell have put much love and care into historic motel. The decor is very Santa Fe with each room having a different theme – we stayed in the prickly pear room. The bed was heavenly - we sleep better than we had in days!
It’s a great place to stay with your dog. We brought our golden retriever and was greeted at the front desk with homemade pumpkin treats for our fig. The motel is half a block walk to a community park where we were able to throw the frisbee there and walk their trails. In addition, the motel has a couple small dog areas with dog waste bags and disposal cans close to the rooms.
Icing on the cake is the Pecos Trail Inn restaurant that is just steps away from your room. The margaritas are fabulous, and the food was incredible - we remembered that from our first time. We highly recommend this little motel for many reasons - you will not be disappointed. We will be back!

We stayed one night with our golden Retreiver. It was an excellent stay - ground floor room right next to the outer door so we could easily take him out. There are very large nice grassy areas around the hotel that our golden could run and fetch his frisbee. The room was much more than we expected with a full size refrigerator,2 burner stove/kitchenette. We would definitely stay here again if we come through Watertown SD!
