Clean, great breakfast
Residence Inn by Marriott MobileResidence Inn is one of the few places that accepts giant breeds (dogs over 80 pounds) so that immediately gives them four bones. They’re clean, friendly, and have real food (eggs, fruit, sausage, bacon) for breakfast. My dogs were happy there. I like that the beds were too high for them.
A treasure
2439 FairfieldThis B&B was so much more than I expected. The owners a friendly and gracious, and upgraded us to their honeymoon suite for free because they only had one other guest. Staying there is like visiting you ancient auntie or great grandmother. There are tons of tchotchkes- many are glass - so I was worried about my big dog’s lethal tail but all was well. The neighborhood is safe and pleasant for walkies. The bed required steps for me, so there was no chance of puppy cuddling, but there were plenty of area rugs. Breakfast was ah-mah-zing. Be sure you leave room for one of Brian’s homemade fried pies.
Awesome hotel, super dog friendly
Kimpton Pittman Hotel - Downtown Dallas an IHG HotelThe Pittman is a green hotel but knowing we had dogs, they gave us an extra key just for the power slot. The staff is amazing. Valet service is $35/night but it’s downtown Dallas (deep Ellum). The beds are soft but not too soft, the floors are hard wood with carpet only under the bed, the bathrooms are huge with rubber non-slip floors and plenty of room for dog bowls. I would totally stay there again, with or without my pets.
