Decent Stay
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Richmond SouthI have stayed at this La Quinta in before in a room with 2 queen beds but this trip they put me in one with one king. The set up is very odd in that the desk area is essentially another room that feels like you're in a closet. If you want to watch TV you need to sit on the bed. There is also a pretty good free breakfast in the morning. Overall the place is a decent stay but it definitely needs some updating. My next trip I will be sure they put me in a room with the 2 queen beds.
Great stopover
Candlewood Suites Rocky Mount an IHG HotelWe love stopping here on our trips south. It’s clean, has everything you need in the room, staff is friendly & helpful, & this recent trip in particular the worked with me with switching the date a couple of days after the deadline because I had to put one of my dogs down unexpectedly. Thank you BringFido & Candlewood Suites.
Comfortable & Convenient
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham WaldorfBooked a one night stay here while traveling w my 2 dogs. Room was spacious & clean albeit worn. Bed was very comfortable. The micro & fridge were both great to have. Location is on hwy 301 so there was a lot of traffic noise early, but did quiet down with help of the AC. Staff was friendly & helpful. Def worth the price.
The good & the bad
Best Western EmporiaI am giving the BW a 4 but actually think a 3.5 is more fitting. Our room was ok but carpeted, which surprised me being a pet friendly hotel. Let's face it, dogs mark sometimes. My biggest issue was the chair in in the room smelled of cat pee. In their defense I never mentioned it because we had a couple of other issues which were fairly serious but when I checked out the young woman at the desk had been informed of the problems & credited me the dog fee and took some money off the bill. As far as staying again, I'm not sure I would because of the smell & the carpeting, but kudos to them for trying the make the issues they were aware of right.
