There are a few wonderfully shaded garden tables along the side of the building. This was such a cool spot! Order/pickup inside. Relax under the big trees and garden outside. Tacos and margaritas were excellent! The homemade chips and salsa are probably the best we have ever had. Loved this place, and glad we could bring the pups.

A wonderful tropical forest trail with an expansive uncrowded dog friendly beach at the end. Beautiful!
** Note*** towards the end of the trail you have to cross a large roadway and the trail
picks up on the other side after that it’s a short distance to the beach.

We stayed two nights. Rooms were clean. Staff was welcoming. Nice grass for walking. Great place!

Stayed here in Feb 2026 and due to road construction the exit off I-40 is closed which creates a 5.8mi detour to get to the hotel. The check-in staff was clearly annoyed he had to pull himself away from the bar to get our room. The entire hotel smells bad. There was hair in the clean towels. The carpets were dirty. Our room had a hole in the sheetrock around the door stopper. The shower head was pretty calcified. The elevator emergency call button stayed on the entire stay - clearly malfunctioning. So, we likely won’t stay at this La Quinta again. Only plus, was the gal at the counter upon checkout was very friendly.

Large dog park with two sections for small and large dogs. Clean. Places to sit and a place for dogs to run and fetch the ball. Didn’t need gas but topped off anyway just to say “thanks for the great space after a long travel day”!

This is a favorite stop when traveling through this area. Rooms are nice and clean, breakfast is good, and it has a small fenced dog area that was great for playing with friends.

Excellent Pizza! ❤️ the thin crust. Dogs welcome - humans tolerated. Cool covered outside porch seating with an awesome funky decor.

Worth every cent! These gardens rejuvenate your soul. Breathtaking gardens, tree house, cafe, chapel, artsy bridges, waterfalls- just go! Sneakers required and bring water for you and pups we put in several miles and it was absolutely stunning every step.

The staff were welcoming and accommodating. We stayed overnight and enjoyed how dog welcoming the hotel was. Had a large grassy area for walking the dogs and the entire first floor is dedicated to guests with paws. Only downside is the walls are very thin so it’s noisy, they provide you with ear plugs when you check in. I would stay here again, I would just time my stay to arrive later in the evening.

Fully fenced. shaded. Lots of agility toys. We really enjoyed this dog park.

Patio has so much potential but the flys were awful and the food wasn’t that great. Service was friendly but overall the experience was extremely buggy.

Patio area overlooking the pier and Santa Monica beach. A fabulous view. I had the burger and hubby had fish and calamari. Both were great. But the onion rings were really the highlight. We were traveling with our yellow lab and he was greeted warmly by the servers and we really enjoyed sitting there and watching the hustle bustle of the beach and pier with our pup and our cocktail. We were there for lunch but plan to go back for the happy hour specials.

Minor hiccups which the mgr quickly addressed. Happy dog family here. Nice hotel, large rooms, lots of grass for walking. Lots of dog love from staff. Thanks for a great evening.

No way to sugar coat this. Homeless people living in hotel, stained carpet, door lock doesn’t work, missing smoke detector, no pillows or towels, dead cockroaches on floor, toilet doesn’t flush well. Front desk lady puts up a sign “be right back, helping guest” so she can sit outside and smoke cigarettes and not help guests. Room stinks like Pine-Sol and cigarettes, and pool closed. No mini fridge or microwave as promised. Tub clogged and doesn’t drain. Woke up to dead bug in my bed. DONT STAY HERE! I regret booking this online. Eeewwww! Not even acceptable for the dog.

large, fenced in gravel area fully stocked with poop bags, trash cans, metal benches. For a roadside stop this is awesome. I was super impressed. And Luci in the store is super friendly and helpful!

950 sq ft! Full kitchen living room with fireplace and giant luxury bathroom. Washer/Dryer too! They have a small fenced area called the dog park (small Astro turf and gravel area), which I appreciated. Despite our 1:30am fire drill for a busted water pipe this was an exceptional experience. Suite had a balcony with fabulous views & it was super clean. We loved getting to meet our friends while traveling through Vegas they came to our hotel and we ordered dinner from door dash. Kudos to this dog friendly property for doing an excellent job hosting everyone in the family! PS: If in Vegas, Lazy Dog restaurant is a must as well.

Rooms were spacious, new with many luxury touches. The resort grounds are beautiful with two pools and lots of grass and gravel. Dogs are welcome anywhere on the outside grounds. My favorite part of the experience was sitting at the pool bar with the misters going and our dog was doggie royalty. He had bottomless water and plenty of pets and paw shakes from the staff and visitors. Best stay of our cross country road trip so far. Only frustration was the inability to order from the restaurant or look at the menu without going there and placing order (nothing online and can’t call it in), and the front desk staff upon check in and check out were a bit grumpy but efficient.

What a beautiful, big, grassy park. The nicest dog park I have been to. Fully fenced with separate areas for shy dogs and high energy companions. Lots of dogs there to run and play with.

This hotel is your average clean, older hotel. What makes it 5 bones is the staff, Courtney at the front desk was super kind and helpful getting us a last min room. Full breakfast is included-love that! And the best part (not sure if it’s hotel sanctioned) but there is a fantastic fenced in courtyard off the pool area where our dog could stretch his legs and we could take in some fresh air. The dog found chasing the grasshoppers particularly amusing. Thanks for a great stay.

Very large room with comfy bed and pillows. Nice grass are for walking Jack. Loved that it’s pet friendly. Staff were short and it sounded like elephants playing hockey on ceiling. Very thin insulation; it was okay until about 1am then I was annoyed. Breakfast was a nice plus. Room was pretty old/dated. Overall it’s about a $100 hotel for twice the price. Has lots of potential to be great.

Patio seating available with dog. Food was excellent! Our favorites were the extra hot salsa, and the Carne Asada Tacos and definitely have the Modelo Dark on tap it a super frozen mug. Service was my only complaint but we got a chance to meet the owner and he was great! We will be coming back on our next road trip.

Traveling so only stayed one night but the entire experience was exceptional. Check in/out both front desk people were very friendly and helpful. Bartender even filled up my giant Togo coffee mugs in the morning so we could hit the road. The room was clean and very nice with small fridge. There were nice dog walking areas with grass that were clean and well maintained. I even noticed they have Tesla charging stations for guests (I didn’t need those). I will for sure be staying here again.

Our pup was super excited to be the fry clean up guy! We had Mother’s Day apps and beer here and LOVED IT! They even have leash hooks on their tables on the brew side. Food from “Roost” was excellent. Had the onion, wings and fries. Low key. Friendly. Can’t wait to come back. This will be our regular spot. THANK YOU!

Our favorite beer is the porter. Great place to bring your pup, enjoy patio seating with heaters. Staff are always super friendly and the food truck bites are yummy (my favorite is Mac-n-cheese bites). Thanks for this wonderful addition to the Penn Valley area. Tip: if no food truck, you can order pizza from players and bring it in.

Food was excellent (hubby had Reuben, I had a salad). Service was even better- friendly and very kind. We brought our pup and the server even rewarded his good manners (which we have been practicing) with a lil piece of bacon. They couldn’t have been more welcoming to these hesitant pup parents. Thank you for making this a great family lunch.
