Love the location….

Good food, beer and a great view of the river. Was unaware of a dog menu. Would have ordered our dog something.

Great view of river

They have great food and limited selection of beer on the menu they hand you. I saw they had more to offer on a chalkboard but it was never suggested.
They don’t bring water bowls so if your pup needs water bring your own .

Mostly Constructive Review

I gave C&A 4 bones instead of 5 for a couple of reasons. After my review, you can make your own opinion.
It was our first visit to Helen and we went to C&A twice, once for a late lunch and another day for dinner . The lunch visit went very well. Alaina was our server and she was great. She offered to bring our Brittany Doodle water and that is always a plus to us even though we carry a bowl with us. Food and drinks were great as well.
On the night we went for dinner it was crowded as we expected so we placed our name on the list. It was very cold outside so after awhile we went in and found a spot to sit/stand until our table was ready. Instead, a coupe of chairs came open at the outdoor bar so we took them. Just as well being our name was never called. A hostess noticed we were sitting there and brought us menus. We sat there for a few more minutes until an order was placed. During the course of all this, where we were sitting the cold air from the constant entrance door remaining open so we were a bit uncomfortable. So was our 20lbs doodle so I picked her up and put her inside my coat as much as I could. We kept seeing couples seated in the patio area in which we wanted to be. Right before our food arrived I was approached by what seemed to be a manager to instruct me that Georgia law requires that pets aren’t allowed above the counter. Then this person stands over me as if I were gonna jump into position immediately. After I sternly told her to get off of me she walked away. (Word to wise: it’s not the best thing to stand over a veteran in such manner) At this point it was too late for me to avoid a trigger to my PTSD. It was all I could do to enjoy my food at that point. I couldn’t get out of there quick enough.
Although that happened, the food was delicious and Alaina once again served us and was fantastic. I believe she even picked up that I was in mid-episode for her demeanor toward me was attentive and compassionate. I appreciate that.
I’d give a 5 bone rating but this just isn’t the place to take your dog during a busy time.
