Dog Friendly Beaches in Old Lyme, CT

Fido is welcome to enjoy the pet-friendly beach on a leash from September 30th to April 1st at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, CT. Visitors with pets on the beach outside of those dates are subject to fines if caught. Leashed dogs can join you in picnic areas year-round, and pups are also welcome in the campground after Columbus Day until May 1st.

McCabe's Beach is a dog-friendly beach in Southold, NY, that overlooks the sound. Leashed dogs are allowed at the beach between the beginning of May through to the start of October from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Dogs aren't permitted when a lifeguard is on duty. Parking by Southold Town is by permit only.

Leashed dogs are welcome to visit the pet-friendly Harveys Beach in Old Saybrook, CT, from October 15 through May 1. This public recreation space, open to non-residents, offers a beautiful stretch of sandy beach for two- and four-legged friends to walk. There is an entrance fee for cars and motorcycles, and season passes are also available.
