Fort Clinch State Park Fort Clinch State Park in Fernandina Beach, FL is pet friendly. Dogs are welcome to join their owners on all of the hiking trails, nature trails, along the park drive, and in the camping areas at the park. One of the best parts of this state park is the six-mile trail around the fort and the surrounding wooded areas. Alternatively, you and Fido may enjoy the shorter hike, the Willow Pond Hiking Trail. This hike loops around a couple of pretty fresh water ponds. Unfortunately, pooches can't go inside any of the historic buildings on the site such as the fort, and dogs are not permitted on the boardwalk or beach. The is a small fee to enter the park.
