Jupiter Dog Beach Jupiter Dog Beach is home to one of Florida's best off-leash beach areas. Dogs are free to roam a designated section of the beach running along A1A near Ocean Cay Park in Jupiter, FL. This 2.5-mile stretch of pet-friendly beach is located from beach marker #26 at Marcinski Road, going north to beach marker #57 (at the Carlin Park property line) and welcomes well-behaved, obedient dogs. The Original Dog Beach Perhaps the most popular canine hotspot in San Diego, CA is The Original Dog Beach located at the northern end of Ocean Beach. Here, dogs can roam off-leash at any time of the day. Owners should take care to pick up after their pets. Gooch's Beach Gooch's Beach in Kennebunk, ME is pet friendly at specific times throughout the year. From June 15 to Labor Day, dogs are welcome before 9am and after 5pm under voice control or on a leash. From the day after Labor Day to June 14, dogs are permitted on the beach at any time, but must be under voice control or on a leash. See Details
Sugarlands Distilling Company Sugarlands Distilling Company in Gatlinburg, TN, is a dog-friendly industrial moonshine maker. This great spot offers indoor and outdoor tours, tastings, and even live music events for you and Fido to attend. As there's no food prepared on the premises, you can bring them inside and out to enjoy the festivities and the numerous spirits available, including moonshine, whiskey, and twists on classics like root beer. Fort Pulaski National Monument Pet-friendly Fort Pulaski National Monument in Tybee Island, GA, offers dog owners the chance to experience many interesting and exciting activities year-round. Fort Pulaski itself is a large-scale outdoor exhibit. The main structure, together with outlying works including demilune, drawbridges, ditches, and dikes, is a fine example of historic military architecture. Leashed dogs are welcome to enter the fort and explore the hiking trails within the monument. Fido is also allowed to walk along the shoreline; however, they should not enter the water due to the very strong current. While visiting, they offer Fido the chance to join the Bark Ranger program and receive a free tag for his collar. This program consists of learning what each letter in B.A.R.K. stands for and practicing these lessons during your visit. See Details
Rock City Bring your furry best friend to the dog-friendly Rock City in Lookout Mountain, GA, for a mountain adventure. Leashed pets can explore The Enchanted Trail that takes you through the 14-acre property. You'll see over 400 different species of flora, panoramic views of seven states (on clear days) and even a waterfall. There's a cafe at the top of the mountain that offers a dog menu and pup cups. Programs are available daily and include admission to the dolphin, sea lion and parrot shows, guided marine life tour, lagoon-side beach, and bottomless boat ride. This amazing retired battleship is home to a statue that commemorates the dogs who have helped the armed forces over the years. If you'd like to tour the ship, they offer outdoor kennels for Fido. This family and pet-friendly winery grows outstanding grapes and produces high quality, award-winning wines. New River Gorge National Park & Preserve New River Gorge National Park & Preserve in Glen Jean, WV, is pet friendly. Dogs are allowed on the trails that wind around the banks of the river which passes through rocks, rock outcrops, trails and coal mines. In the gorge, there is typically a 1,000-foot difference in elevation between the river bottom and the adjacent plateau. The park is 70,000 acres, ideal for hiking, rock climbing and rafting on a whitewater river. Take Fido along the 2.4-mile Endless Wall Trail which passes through rich forest, crosses Fern Creek, then zig-zags along the cliff edge until reaching the overlook at Diamond Point. See Details
Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens is a beautiful, dog-friendly botanical garden in Williston, FL. The park features cascading waterfalls, 50+ garden displays, koi ponds and countless breathtaking views. Leashed dogs are welcome as long as they're under your control at all times and on a non-retractable leash. Dogs must be friendly, current on vaccines and cleaned up after. Assateague National Seashore Dogs are allowed on the beach, outside of the lifeguard-protected beach area, along the Maryland portion of Assateague National Seashore in Berlin. Pets are not permitted on the nature trails or anywhere within the Virginia portion of Assateague Island, and visiting pups must be on a six-foot leash at all times. See Details
Gulfside City Beach Park One of the many pet-friendly beaches of Sanibel Island, Gulfside City Beach Park is located near a City of Sanibel and Federal nature preserve. This Florida beach is also home to threatened and endangered nesting shorebirds and sea turtles during much of the year. Dogs must be kept on a leash (maximum 8 feet) at all times, and owners are required by law to clean up after their pets. Fenwick Island State Park Fenwick Island State Park in Delaware has a nice, uncrowded, pet-friendly beach during winter. However, dogs are prohibited from May 1st to September 30th. The area offers three miles of ocean beaches and access to the Little Assawoman Bay. Boundary markers for areas open or closed to pets will typically be designated by signs posted at the seaward toe of the dune. See Details
Rosie's Dog Beach Bring Fido to splash in the water at Rosie's Dog Beach in Long Beach, CA! This area is not fenced in and is not a dedicated "dog beach", but pups are permitted to visit with their owners during the daily Dog Zone hours, 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Coronado Dog Beach Coronado's Dog Beach is a dog-friendly, leash-free area on the western part of the shore in Coronado, CA. Parking is available along Ocean Boulevard, but it can be a rather long walk to the beach, so be sure to keep your pup leashed until you reach the sand, as there is a strict zero-tolerance policy for unleashed dogs. Owners are asked to monitor their dogs at all times, clean up any messes and ensure that Fido has all current licenses before visiting. Make sure to bring a camera and snap some photos of Fido with the stunning scenery! The Point Loma headland and iconic Hotel del Coronado are visible from the shore. See Details
