Ridge to River Trail System The Ridge to River Trail System is a dog-friendly network of over 190 miles of trails, weaving around the foothills of the capital city of Idaho, Boise. The trails in this network not only link the hills together, but also local neighborhoods. They vary in difficulty, ranging from steep and difficult pathways through the hills, to more gradual inclines. Although Fido must stay on their leash for most of the trails, including the Freestone Creek Trail, the Oregon Trail, and the Veterans Trail; there are a few controlled off-leash trails as well, such as the Corrals Trail, the Three Bears Trail, Shane's Loop, and the Ponds Loop.
