Jamestown-Scotland Ferry The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry is a dog-friendly ferry that runs from the Historic Jamestown area across the river to Surry, VA. The ferry does not charge an admission fee to ride, and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including major holidays. Reservations are not accepted, and takes approximately 15-20 minutes to cross the river one way. Leashed dogs are allowed on the ferry deck, and owners must maintain control of them at all times.
