Many locals refer to the park as a cultural playground, with a theater, a cinema, an exhibition space and an events stage to keep people entertained on the large green space. Rederij Paping Amsterdam is famed the world over for the winding canals that weave through the historic cobble stoned streets of the capital city. One of the best ways to take it all in is on a dog-friendly boat tour, such as the one offered by Rederij Paping. The canals are a UNESCO world heritage site, lined with over 8500 monumental buildings that you and your sea dog can enjoy from the comfort of the boat. This centrally-located public park is a great place for you and Fido to see another side of the stunning capital city, playing fetch in the grass or wandering around the pretty pathways. Your City Bike There's no better way to tour one of the world's most bike-friendly cities than on two wheels, and Your City Bike allows you to do this with Fido in tow, or more specifically, in basket. They are located a short distance from the biggest street market in Europe, the museum district, and the largest pet-friendly park in the city, Vondelpark. You'll find two options depending on the size of your dog: a small basket on the front for little dogs or a larger cargo bike for bigger dogs. Black Bikes One of the best ways to see Amsterdam is to join a guided tour, so why not give Fido one in the basket of a dog-friendly bike rental from Black Bikes? The Cargo Bike Rental will cost you 16 EUR for 3 hours and you're welcome to transport Fido in the basket, but you do it at your own risk, especially as those cobbled streets can get pretty bumpy! Flevopark Flevopark is a dog-friendly park on the eastern side of Amsterdam in the Indische Buurt neighborhood. Home to a swimming area for dogs in the summer, this is a great spot for pets to cool down when they have had enough of sightseeing in the city on sunny days. Just outside the park you'll find the Jewish Cemetery, a moving tribute to those lost from the Jewish community, with graves dating back to 1614. Natuurgebied Dintelse Gorzen Natuurgebied Dintelse Gorzen is pet-friendly. Leashed pups can join you to discover the interesting wildlife that lives at this nature park. Watch as the cows graze and the birds take a dip in the pools of water. It is recommended that you wear boots as it can get muddy. The trail is around five miles and is moderately difficult. Dog owners are reminded to clean up any mess that their pups leave behind to preserve the cleanliness of the nature park. See Details
Oosterpark Oosterpark is a pet-friendly public park on the east side of Amsterdam. You and Fido can wander through the interesting sculpture garden full of striking monuments, including one that commemorates the abolition of slavery in the Netherlands. Fido may prefer walking in the grassy areas, or over to the canal, or for pups who are keen bird watchers, there's a large selection of birds in the area to spot, such as the gray heron. See Details
Oosterpark This spacious park from the end of 19th century in East Amsterdam, just located behind the Tropical Museum, exhibits several big, monumental sculptures. There is also a huge grassy field, stretches of shady lawn along the waterfront, a children's wading pool, and paved paths for bikers. Both dog-friendly and dog-free zones are available. See Details
Beatrixpark Beatrixpark is a lovely park in the Zuider Amstel neighborhood. While it's not exactly centrally located, the park is less crowded and cleaner than other parks in Amsterdam. It welcomes about 8 millions visitors every year, and is a very popular destination for jogging, dog-walking, or just enjoying the view. In the summer, there are often free concerts at the park's bandstand or open-air theater. You'll also find four cafes in the park where you can stop for a bite to eat after enjoying the park's miles of paved paths and wooded trails with Fido. See Details
Sarphatipark Sarphatipark has a dog-free grassy area, but don't let that stop you from visiting. On the other side of the water, there's a virtual doggie playground (and a basketball courts, table-tennis courts, and a playground for humans). Ankerpark Ankerpark is pet-friendly. Located between the Zijlpoort and the Meelfabriek, the park's large ship anchor is the defining feature. The Koninklijke Nederlandsche Grofsmederij used to be located on the spot where the Ankerpark is now located. Dogs are welcome to walk on the trails off-leash, as long as they are well-behaved and answer to recall. Dog owners are reminded to clean up any mess that is left behind.
