Skidaway Island State Park Located near historic Savannah, the dog-friendly Skidaway Island State Park is a part of Georgia’s intracoastal waterway. The park provides camping and picnicking surrounded by Spanish moss-draped live oaks. Trails wind through maritime forest and over salt marsh allowing visitors to watch for deer, fiddler crabs, raccoon, egrets and migrating birds such as colorful painted buntings.
