Dog Friendly Hiking Trails Near BTV Airport

Reverence (Whales Tails) is a dog-friendly roadside attraction in South Burlington, VT. Created by Jim Sardonis in 1989, the striking 13-foot black granite whale tails symbolize the fragility of our planet. The sculpture is located between exits 12 and 13 on I-89.

East Woods Natural Area is a relatively undisturbed, 40-acre, mixed hardwood and conifer forest in South Burlington, VT. You and your leashed pooch to explore a 1-mile hilly loop trail. The Potash Brook runs through the middle of East Woods and the sunlit openings in the canopy allow for the regeneration of plant growth on the forest floor, which makes a pleasant surrounding for Fido to explore by your side. East Woods Natural Area can be accessed every day of the week from dawn until dusk.

Oakledge Park is a dog-friendly park located in the South End of Burlington, VT. Nestled along the shores of Lake Champlain, bring Fido to enjoy beautiful waterfront views while you have a picnic or relax at a bench. There are walking trails, pavilions, grills, restrooms, and convenient parking. Keep Fido leashed and clean up after him.

Underhill State Park is a pet-friendly spot in Cambridge, VT. Bring Fido for a walk on one of the trails, a picnic in the pavilion, or simply relax in nature. It's situated on the west slope of 4,300 feet Mount Mansfield, in the 39,837-acre Mount Mansfield State Forest. Leashed dogs are welcome, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them.

The Island Line Rail Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.
