Visit the pet-friendly Bass River State Forest in Tuckerton, NJ. This area was the first forest designated for public recreation back in 1905. The centerpiece of the park is Lake Absegami, a 67-acre lake created in the 1930s. Lots of visitors enjoy boating, swimming, and hanging out around the lake. The main pet-friendly trail winds through the Absegami Natural Area, where tall pine/oak woods and a small Atlantic white cedar bog can be explored.

Freedom Fields Park is pet-friendly. Take a stroll on the paved trails that wind around this pretty park in Little Egg Harbor. Leashed dogs are welcome to join their owners throughout the park, as long as they are well-behaved and all mess is cleaned up after them. Freedom Fields Park is open every day of the week from 6am to 8pm.

To make sure you're on the right track, stick to the pink markers that are dotted around. Dog owners are reminded to keep their pets on a leash on the trail and to clean up any mess that they leave behind.
