Tin Cup Hiker Trailhead Leashed dogs are welcome to hike with you at pet-friendly Tin Cup Hiker Trailhead in Stanley, ID. This trail leads to the popular Alice Toxaway Loop. You can experience Alice Lake, Toxaway Lake, Twin Lakes, and Farley Lake along this loop with Fido, as well as several mountain peaks including McDonald's Peak, El Capitan, Parks Peak, Snowside Peak and Imogene Peak. Caribou-Targhee National Forest Caribou-Targhee National Forest in Idaho Falls, ID is dog-friendly. This spectacular forest provides year-round recreation opportunities for you and Fido. Camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, and riding ATVs are just some of the popular outdoor pursuits which attract visitors to the forest. During your visit, take Fido along Darby Canyon Wind Cave Trail. This 6.3 mile trail leads hikers through woodland, scenic meadows, and a hilly area overlooking the the picturesque valley below. A waterfall marks the onward journey towards the ice caves, but dogs and their owners should only admire these from a distance. The Caribou-Targhee National Forest has two wilderness areas, Jedediah Smith and Winegar Hole, and many points of interest such as The Curlew National Grassland, Upper Palisades Lake, Mesa Falls, Teton Canyon, and Mink Creek Recreation Area. Fido can join you on this backpacking adventure that can take up to three days to complete. Starting at the Tin Cup Trailhead, you'll come across incredibly dramatic, jagged granite peaks and ridge lines that separate beautiful valleys of pine and meadows of tall grasses and willow. Mesa Falls Nature Trail Mesa Falls Nature Trail is a dog-friendly route in Ashton, ID. The Mesa Nature Trail starts at the upper parking lot of the Mesa Falls Visitor Center and leashed dogs are welcome. The 2-mile flat unpaved trail meanders through a quiet forest and ends at an overlook of Lower Mesa Falls. Visitors pay a $5 fee per vehicle or $1 fee per hiker. See Details
Lake Walcott State Park Lake Walcott State Park is a pet-friendly destination in Rupert, ID. Bring Fido with you to enjoy the picturesque surroundings of the park, including hiking trails and a grassy, shaded day-use area that is hugely popular among picnickers. You can also try a few holes of disc golf at the 21-hole course. Pets must be leashed and are not permitted to go in the water. There is a vehicle entrance fee, unless you have an Idaho State Parks Passport. See Details
