While you’re visiting, stop in the dog chapel and sit on one of the hand-carved pews, surrounded by photos of passed dogs and handwritten messages their families have tacked onto the walls in memoriam. Celebrate the spooky season at the Annual Pets and Pumpkins Family Festival on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at Park Central Square in downtown Springfield, MO. There is something for the entire family to enjoy, including one of the state’s largest costume parades for pets and people. Entry is $2 for all attendees (kids, pets and adults), and with your paid admission, you can take part in all the festivities at no additional cost, including the walking parade and costume contest.

Held over six weekends every Fall, the celebration blends classic farm charm with festive, pup-friendly fun. Explore 10 acres of pumpkin patches, wander through a five‑acre corn maze, and embark on hayrides to the patch. Seasonal treats like kettle corn, cider, ice cream, and local beer and wine add to the festive flavors.
