If you’re tired of classic hotel rooms and want to share a snug stay with your best friend instead, book a vacation with your pooch at a small inn or B&B. Welcoming hosts across the country provide cozy rooms and dish up home-cooked meals while ofering special perks for pups, too. Enjoy a getaway with Fido at these pet-friendly lodgings.

Bed and Bagels of Tucson

Bed and Bagels of Tucson serves up everybody’s favorite breakfast bread in dog-friendly surroundings. Pups can enjoy amenities like two separate fenced spaces and they’re even welcome to sunbathe alongside their owners in the fenced pool area. When you’re ready to explore, take a stroll to the end of the street to access a series of trails that weave around the river, or for more off-leash fun, head to the fenced area at McDonald District Park just a short drive away. If you need to venture out without Fido, he’s welcome to stay with the B&B’s host for short periods of time.

Bed and Bagels of Tucson allows one or two pets of any size for an additional fee of $10 per night, and three or more pets for $20 per night.

Battlefield Bed & Breakfast Inn

Battlefield Bed & Breakfast Inn in Gettysburg is a real Civil War-era farmhouse with a 30-acre nature preserve on the Gettysburg Battlefield. All 12 of the inn’s suites are pet friendly, with four of them offering direct outdoor access. This historic B&B is said to be haunted, but don’t be scared when you see a soldier in the morning. That’s just a Civil War reenactor arriving for the daily history program that you and Fido are invited to attend. Pups are also welcome to get their fill of history at neighboring Gettysburg National Military Park. Pet-friendly amenities at the inn include walking trails, a huge lawn for fetch, and a one-acre fenced-in dog park.

The result is charmingly homey, so you may feel like you’re sleeping over at grandma’s house. Spend an afternoon lounging on the front porch, walk four blocks to the beach, or let Fido play with the other pet guests in the fenced yard.

Homestead Bed & Breakfast at Rehoboth Beach welcomes canines with open arms. Four-legged guests receive treats, bowls, towels, and a sheet at check-in. After picking up Fido’s swag, head to your private cottage, spacious room with a garden view, or loft. Pups can play off leash in the large fenced pet walk area and clean up at the outdoor pet washing station. Treat your Terrier to unique ice cream made just for him at nearby Salty Paws.

Homestead Bed & Breakfast at Rehoboth welcomes two pets of any size for an additional fee of $30 per pet for one night, and $15 per pet for each additional night.

Inn at Schoolhouse Creek offers one of the best pet kits around, including a bed, bowls, treats, a leash lanyard, a welcome letter, towels and a mat, plus a frisbee that Fido is free to chase on the “Dog Meadow” during his stay and even take home with him as a souvenir. Take a stroll together along the property’s pet-friendly Creek Trail and enjoy the sights and sounds of this coastal community in Northern California. Then, head into town and rent a canoe with your pooch from Catch a Canoe & Bicycles Too.

Lefevre Inn and Resort

Oliver, Director of Pet Relations, is happy to welcome canine guests to share his little slice of heaven at the Lefevre Inn and Resort in Galena. If Fido is a Poodle like Oliver, his pet fee will be waived. The inn is less than two miles from downtown but feels a million miles away. Nestled on ten acres, the resort features eight private rooms with wood-burning fireplaces, two cottages, and a garden-view apartment. Upon check-in, pups are presented with a welcome bag of toys and home-baked treats.

Lefevre Inn and Resort allows two dogs up to 50 lbs for an additional fee of $55 per pet, per stay (unless she’s a Poodle).

The Paw House Inn & Cottages

The Paw House Inn & Cottages in West Rutland welcomes canine guests in all accommodations. Rooms range from simple suites to comfortable cottages, but they’re all canine-themed and feature a built-in dog bed. The inn also offers a wide variety of activities to keep you and your pup entertained. Go for a hike through wildflower fields, spend time together picking berries, or let Fido run off leash in the fully fenced dog park.

Guests who don’t bring a dog are charged $10, while Fido stays for free.

Dog Bark Park Inn B&B

Getting sent to the dog house is a good thing at the Dog Bark Park Inn B&B. Located near the border of Washington and Oregon, you’ll find Idaho’s most famous dog-friendly landmark in the sleepy town of Cottonwood. Nicknamed ‘Sweet Willy’ by the locals, the world’s largest Beagle stretches to a height of 30 feet. But this is no ordinary dog – it’s actually a bed and breakfast! After your canine companion has gotten over the shock of seeing the giant Beagle, he can play fetch in the grass and join you for a tour of the grounds.
