Pet trick-or-treat & haunted pet pictures, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Halloween

Instead of Milky Way or Snickers, these Trick-or-Treaters will be begging for cat nip and dog bones at the Pet Supplies Plus / Bloomfield Hills Scary Tails Trick or Treat for pets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2057 S. Telegraph Rd. on Saturday, October 31. While you will not hear shouts of, “trick-or-treat,” you are likely to hear some happy barks and meows coming from dogs and cats who will parade the store in costumes with their owners while picking up all kinds of species- appropriate goodies along the way. There will also be treats for other pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs and lizards. All kinds of pets are invited as long as they are kept safe from getting loose. Larger pets must be on a maximum six-foot leash; smaller pets can be paraded in wagons, pet strollers and pet carriers, which can also be part of the pet’s costume. We want to see them all!” says store owner Addy Shattuck. “This event is one we can show our appreciation to our neighbors for their business and support throughout the year. Plus it’s a great opportunity for pet owners to celebrate Halloween with their furry friends!” Pet food and treat stations will be set up around the store for pet and their owners to visit as part of trick-or-treat. Participating pet supplies companies include: Well Pet (makers of Wellness, Eagle Pack and Holistic Select pet food brands); Earthborn Holistic Pet Food; Nature’s Variety; Purina, Natural Balance and Canidae Natural Pet Food Company. There is no cost to participate in Scary Tails Trick-or-Treat. Pet Supplies Plus will provide free treat bags. Trick-or-treaters can also get a photo taken of them and their pet with a real-life Frankenstein and other ghouls at a haunted photo set.
