Animal World USA is excited to announce 8th Annual Washington, DC Week for the Animals is May 28-June 5, 2016. Humane organizations, shelters, rescue groups, educational agencies and non-profit organizations across the metro area will be hosting animal-related special event in various locations. Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens throughout the District and across the entire Washington, DC metropolitan area will be joining in as well, each with activities to celebrate and help the animals. Events will include adoption fairs, spay/neuter awareness events, low cost vaccinations, highlighting shelter events, activities in libraries, pet food drives and vaccination clinics and low cost services, events for the sanctuary animals and therapy dogs visiting living-assisted homes and helping the military's wounded warriors. A special law night at George Washington Law School during the week will be an exciting highlight. Working with Walter Reed Army Medical Center to help assist with therapy dog visits. Also to be included are a salute to our military K-9's and therapy horses, police K9's animal 5-K events, programs at sanctuaries, blessing for the animals, wildlife activities and fun-filled festival days for families to come together to enjoy food, music and the always amazing animals!
