The Fast and the Furriest

The 7th Annual "The Fast and the Furriest" is right on the horizon, with the action scheduled Saturday, April 8, at Hammond Stadium. Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. and the races begin at 7:30 a.m. Walk/Run with or without your furry friend...it's your choice! Whether you are a serious runner, a weekend jogger or just enjoy walking, this event is for you! What you most surely must be is a lover of the furry! This event supports the GCHS in their mission of finding forever adoptive homes for the pets of Southwest Florida! Traditional age group medals awarded to top chipped runners, and to the Fastest Dogs in 3 weight categories. Other awards for Top Fundraisers and Triple Crown Award Winners too! Race entry fees are as follows. 5k Adult - $30 5k Adult with dog - $35 5k Youth (17 and under) - $20 5k Youth with dog - $25 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk for all ages - $15 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk Family Pack - $40 *Pets are welcome to participate with their Guardians but MUST be leashed (non-retractable leads only) and up to date with vaccinations. They must be accustomed to the distance and weather (3.1 miles) and able to not interfere with other participants or pets. If your dog is struggling, please stop. Water and cooling stations will be throughout.
