Description

Parents take note: Dog Bites Are Preventable Half of all children under age 12 will be bitten by a dog; this, according to the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Toni Drugmand of Sit Means Sit Dog Training in Phoenix, Arizona will be teaching kids some fun and easily identifiable skills to help children read when a dog is feeling uncomfortable and needs to be left alone and what to do when a dog becomes too frisky or is scaring them. The curriculum includes teaching children skills to be calm and still around dogs, especially excited or threatening dogs. Using large photos of dogs displaying both safe and unsafe body cues, children will become empowered and learn not to be fearful but instead will learn what to do to stay safe.
