Park Pup Unveiling at Deep Run Park

In collaboration with Henrico County Recreation & Parks, FETCH a Cure will reveal its fourth public park art installation at Deep Run Park. The unveiling will take place by the trail directly behind the Deep Run Recreation Center. Each year, FETCH a Cure’s steel dog sculptures are sponsored by businesses, veterinary practices and individuals, then transformed into community works of art by area artists. The sculptures serve to remind community members to check their pets for the early warning signs of cancer and, if their pet has been diagnosed, to turn to FETCH for help. The organization began its Steel Dog Project as the signature piece of their ongoing pet cancer awareness campaign. The Deep Run Park steel dog sculpture was built by Nicholai Jerome of Spartan Studios and powder coated by Clay Rathburn of DefenseCoat. It is proudly sponsored by Canine Adventure, Holiday Barn Pet Resorts, RedRidge Pet Market, and Subaru of Richmond. Community members and their dog companions are invited to enjoy the unveiling of the new installation, light refreshments, and the park’s many wonderful features.
